Solved: Your Outlook Keeps Asking about Temporary Mailbox Error

Sometimes, users may get the following error message during the open of Outlook, after configuration of O365 account.

We suggest users not to link up to the temporary mailbox as it may be caused data loss. A general reason for this error is that your Outlook Profile has been corrupted and MS Outlook automatically connected with Microsoft Exchange Server. So, you required to use some troubleshooting and check whether the Profile opens or not.

Method 1: Enable Cached Exchange Mode

a. Close Outlook and go with Control Panel of your computer and Click on Mail

b. Go with Email Accounts option.

c. Choose the account and double click on it.

d. Tick on the Cached Exchange Mode option. (Note – If you have already enabled this option then disable it and again enable it after re-opening the MS Outlook.)

e. Restart the MS Outlook check if the Profile will be opened.

Method 2: Delete all Account of your Outlook expect Primary Account

a. Close MS Outlook and go with Control Panel and go with Mail option.

b. Go with Show Profiles option.

c. Choose the account which providing error and click on Remove button.

d. There will display a caution message, Click on Yes button.

e. Follow the given process for each account and leave only primary account.

f. Restart Outlook and check if it works.

Method 3: Generate New Profile and Delete the original one

a. Close MS Outlook and Go with Control Panel and select Mail option

b. Go with Email Accounts

c. Click on New option.

d. Provides all details for new account and click on Next button.

e. After generating the account, delete the prior accounts and use current account as default. Still, you can go with Mail function and select the option to always use this profile. Select the created account and click on OK button.

Method 4: Access ScanPST

ScanPST is a buit-in repair app to scan PST file and recover it from minor errors. You can use the ScanPST app from its own location but before run it, please take backup of your PST file because the tool can delete some data from the folder and restore other remaining data. It enables to use the account but you cannot access the deleted data.

Method 5: Disable Unnecessary Add-ons

 There may be possible that some unnecessary add-ons may be discontinuing the opening of MS Outlook. Users keeps disable there add-ons one by one and check that the account if opened.

Method: 6 Disable anti-Malware
